Jasper, Indiana was settled in the 1800's by immigrants from Baden, Germany. Here, within abundant forests, a thriving wood industry was born. And so craftsmen, carpenters, masons and farmers came to Jasper to find a better life...and they have. Even today with so many features attracting new industry, Jasper maintains a quality of life that residents of other communities can only dream about.

Recreational Facilities & Area Entertainment:

Jasper boasts one of the most comprehensive parks and recreation combinations in the Midwest. The city program operates 17 parks, a 205-acre public lake, Olympic swimming pool & water slide, 2 public golf courses, Jasper Country Club and the championship Sultan's Run Golf Club. Within a few miles of Jasper one can visit Patoka Lake, Lincoln State Park and the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, Ferdinand State forest, Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, or attend a Heartland Class A Professional Baseball game featuring the Dragons in Huntingburg's League Stadium.
